Grammy Nominations
On Wednesday night, The Recording Academy announced nominations for the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. Death Cab for Cutie, with their 2008 release of Narrow Stairs, have been nominated in two categories:
Best Rock Song for "I Will Possess Your Heart"
Best Alternative Music Album for "Narrow Stairs"
The full nominations list can be found at Grammy.com. Award winners will be announced at The Recording Academy's 51st Grammy Awards, held on February 8, 2009 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Something About Airplanes Re-issue, Ben Q&A
Death Cab for Cutie and Barsuk Records, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the studio album, Something About Airplanes, are re-issuing the album as a Deluxe Edition. The Something About Airplanes Deluxe Edition features redesigned artwork and packaging, liner notes by Sean Nelson and a bonus disc including the band's first ever Seattle performance in the Crocodile Cafe in February 1998. It is available for order now at the Barsuk shop.

Death Cab for Cutie has announced they will be performing on Sunday, December 14th at the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas, held at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. Also performing: The Cure, The Killers, Paramore, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, Scott Weiland, and Vampire Weekend. NPR Listener Poll: The Best Albums of 2008
NPR's All Songs Considered listener poll, "The Best Albums of 2008," is now open for voting, and Death Cab for Cutie's Narrow Stairs has been included on list of 100 listener-selected albums. Go to the poll (NPR login required) and vote for up to ten of your favorite albums of the year. The results will be broadcast on the December 8th edition of All Songs Considered.
