On October 9th Ben Gibbard will play a benefit show for Music for Marriage Equality, a coalition dedicated to approving Referendum 74 in Washington State, which would make Washington State the first in the nation to defend marriage equality with a public vote. If approved, Referendum 74 (R-74) will allow everyone in Washington to marry the person they love. Music for Marriage Equality is a project of Washington United for Marriage, and is comprised of members of the Seattle music community.
The intimate solo acoustic performance — taking place one week before the release of Ben’s debut solo album, Former Lives — will be held in the 100-Person Chinese Room in Seattle’s historic Smith Tower. Tickets are $75 and go on sale tomorrow, September 26th, at 12 pm PDT at http://music4marriage.org/
